⟡ The persistent problem 

Over the years working as a photographer I always made sure my lovely subjects were looking their best for their photos, and it was common practice to ask ladies to take their hair ties off their wrists, something I was forever guilty of doing myself.

Fast forward a few years later where I stepped out from behind the camera to be in front of it, as part of The Blonde Nomads (our award winning adventure and travel  business), where I was presenting on stage to a large audience, or filming content for our social media, only to later see images and videos of myself with an ugly hair tie on my wrist ruining the shots. Whoops! Why didn't I remember to take it off!

⟡ Solving the problem

This had me thinking - surely there is a better way for us ladies (and gents) with long hair to have access to our hair ties without the unsightly hair band around our wrist, not to mention the horrible dents in the skin where it cuts off the circulation (that can’t be good for you right?!).

So, after years of being frustrated, I finally went to work on finding a solution.
As a busy mum of two, ocean lover and nomadic traveller I knew my design needed to;

✓ Withstand daily use - something you could swim, sweat and shower in
✓ Never worry about taking it off - designed to look sleek and presentable, complimenting your outfit from AM to PM

 

⟡ The Solution

Following a lengthy research process, a variety of designs and product testing, the fabulous Gypsea Loop Bangle range was born.

My bangles are made from high quality stainless steel which goes through a Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coating process that is ten times stronger than standard gold or silver plating, the same process luxury brands like Rolex and Cartier use. This PVD coating makes them hypoallergenic, 100% waterproof, sweatproof, tarnishproof and nickel-free.

It was important for me to find the lowest environmentally impacting process and I was excited to discover PVD coated jewellery.

The PVD process creates very little waste, and is energy-efficient, lowering our carbon footprint. It also makes our bangles super durable, promoting a culture of responsible consumption and investing in life long pieces.
